Free Things To Do in Moab Utah
While we have looked at quite a few paid tours, there are some free things to do in Moab Utah. If you have a National Parks Pass, you can head back to Arches or Canyonlands National Park with free re-entry.
In Arches, I highly recommend hiking the Delicate Arch Trail to see the famous arch. Or, if you have more time and experience, the Devils Garden Trail is also an amazing hike.
Canyonlands National Park is a little bit more remote, but you can drive up to the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands, or down to The Needles District fairly easily. If you want the most rugged option available, you can enter the Maze District.
Another great free option is to spend an afternoon shop-hopping in downtown Moab. There are dozens of shops to explore and nearly as many restaurants to try for when you get hungry.
And finally, there is the Moab Canyon Pathway, which is a great paved walking/biking trail. The trail starts just north of Moab and leads you right past the entrance of Arches National Park and over the Colorado River. It’s free to ride or walk and we very much enjoyed how close this path was to town.
